Mani Ratnam might cast Abhishek Bachchan & Kareena Kapoor for his next flick

Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor have done their debut with J P Dutta's 'Refugee'. They never acted opposite each other after that. Now the buzz is Mani Ratnam might cast them together along with Aamir Khan in his next flick. Mani's brother said, "Aamir and Kareena are being finalized. And as for Abhishek, I am not aware of any such developments. Yes, we have approached Abhishek for a different project with Mani." This is first time she is working with Aamir, earlier he has expresses a desire to work with Kareena.

When Shah Rukh Khan " Missed" Abhishek Bachchan !

By: Abid

There have been a number of silly headline grabbing stories about the so called rift between Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan . Putting an end to the yellow journalism ( and perhaps making the propogators of such gossip even more embarassed) , Shah Rukh Khan recently confessed to the editor of a leading film magazine about how he missed Abhishek , during the New York schedule of Karan Johar's upcoming blockbuster 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna'('KANK') . Says King Khan , " In the New York schedule of 'KANK' , every night after the pack-up Amitji(Amitabh Bachchan) and I would sit and chat for hours . When Abhishek left for India for three days to attend his friends wedding , I missed him a lot . Actually saying this makes me uncomfortable . The Bachchans are family to us . If people wish to speculate about our inner dynamics , what can I say ? 'KANK' will be memorable because of Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan adding their inimitable magic to it ."

Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee together again?

By ApunKaChoice Bureau

They were liked together in Yuva and their act in Bunty Aur Babli set the cash registers ringing at the box-office.

And now after Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna , Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee are being sought to act together in another flick.

Reports are that director Vipul Shah wants to cast Abhishek in his next film, the script of which he is working on.

Shah, who last directed Amitabh Bachchan , Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra in Waqt – A Race Against Time , is said to ask Abhishek for dates once the script will be ready.

If this happens, it will be Shah’s first film without his favourite actor Akshay whom he is presently directing in Namaste London opposite Katrina Kaif .

Reports add that Shah wants Rani for the female lead role opposite Abhishek.

Shah had approached Rani for ‘Waqt’, but it didn't work out then due to date problems.

Hope this time it does work out.

  • Abhishek Bachchan Biography

Abhishek Bachchan: the name has been the reason for endless speculations. Will he? Won’t he? Ever since he returned from his Swiss school and was spotted at functions towering over his petite mother and standing almost shoulder-to-shoulder with his larger-than-life father, he has had movie moghuls flocking to his side. Just about everyone who was anyone had a project lined up for the Small B. And no one had any doubts that he would follow in his father’s footsteps.

The 6'1 feet tall Abhishek Bachchan was born on 5th February, 1976 to Bollywood Legend and Veteran Actor Amitabh Bachchan & Bollywood actress Jaya Bachchan. Since he was interested in acting and his father Amitabh Bachchan supports his decision, he stopped studying business in United States and joined the film fraternity. As a Son of Legendary actor, Abhi will surely make his own place in the industry.

"He is very much his own actor," says Sunil Shetty. "Of course, there are moments when he is his father's son, but that's not because he's been influenced, it's more due to the fact that it's in his genes, both from his father as well as his mother."

On the other hand, the pressure of measuring up to your talented parents could also be quite a strain. How was he facing up to this fact? We got an answer from a member of the industry who wished to remain anonymous. "Abhishek does not once forget where he comes from or whose son he is. But when it comes to his work, he's taken the best of both and combined it with a talent that is his own and the result will soon be there for all to see. I feel it's quite awesome."

People who know Abhishek also feel the same way. One such person commented... "By and large, the film industry has a pretty fake outward attitude, which works for them. I feel Abhishek has an attitude that is genuinely polite and could never be a put-on. He is an introvert but the friends he makes are for life. Abhishek will give his life for his family and friends."

It is a well known fact that Abhishek Bachchan is adored by the members of the film industry. Mothers like Hema Malini dote on him and sex-sirens such as Bipasha Basu hold a “soft corner” for him. However, this wasn’t enough to bring Abhishek Bahchcan the success he was looking for. His debut, Refugee, earned him rave reviews but didn’t click with the masses. His lackluster debut was followed by a string of flops such as Dhai Akshar Prem Ke and Bas Itna Saa Khwab Hain. The pressure was on him to succeed and good news came with the release of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva. Although not a hit, the film did garner Abhishek much deserved critical acclaim and a spate of awards.

He followed this act with the super-hit Dhoom. His role as the suave cop clicked with the masses and had girls screaming for more. Since then Abhishek has delivered more hits such as Bunty Aur Bubli and Sarkar- where he managed to hold his own alongside sharing the screen with his father. Abhishek has some exciting projects lined up for the future and word on of the mouth is that he will surpass his father in terms of success. We wish him luck.
